The landscaper is scheduled to continue the topsoil placement and sodding this week and into early next week. The final hot-mix asphalt surface course is scheduled to be paved next week. Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning, the existing asphalt surface will be coated with fresh oil and sand. The oil will help the top coat of asphalt bond to the existing layer. The layer of sand is to help prevent tracking the oil into your driveways. Please try to keep your driving to a minimum while the oil dries. If you must drive on the oil, please drive slowly to help prevent splattering onto your vehicle. All vehicles must be removed from the roadway between 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Parking is available on Wagner, Central and Surrey during daytime work hours.

The landscaper is scheduled to continue the topsoil placement/parkway grading and has start sodding this week. The final hot-mix asphalt surface course is scheduled to be paved later this month.

Sidewalk replacement is now completed, so the landscaper should be onsite by the beginning of next week to start grading the parkways and placing topsoil. Due to the heat these days, sod will not be placed for several more weeks, when fall finally decides to come along.

Friday, August 27, 2010

Sidewalk removals were completed this week and next week the concrete sidewalks will be replaced. Sewer structures are being raised to final grade in the roadway. The contractor is anticipating starting landscape repairs the week after Labor Day. Residents are reminded that their sprinkler systems should be reinstalled before the sod is placed.

The binder level of asphalt is complete, as well as all the driveways. Sidewalk removal and replacement will take place next week. The landscaper should be coming in soon to grade and shape behind the new curbs. Sod will not be placed until after September 1st,, as it is just too hot right now!! After the sod gets placed, the surface will be installed. Residents are reminded to start reinstalling sprinkler systems, pet fence wiring and brick amenities before the sod is completed.

The binder level of asphalt will be completed today! Binder is the bottom level of asphalt. The surface level, which is 1.5” thick will be the very last thing done before project completion, so that no construction traffic drives on our new road. The contractor will be onsite next week removing and replacing some deteriorated squares of sidewalk.

The east side curb was poured Thursday and driveways were completed Friday. Just like on the west side, the concrete will need 72-hours to cure. Once the driveways can be driven on, the contractor will remove the barricades and place temporary stone ramps.

East Side Curb Installation

Due to the rain yesterday, the curb installation on the east side was pushed back a day. It was originally scheduled for today, but now it will be poured tomorrow (if the rain cooperates with us!). The schedule then will be to pour the driveways on Monday. With the 72-hour cure period needed for concrete, the driveways should be reopened Thursday afternoon, all weather dependent of course.

All concrete driveways on the west side of Indian and on Beverly west of Indian have been completed. With a 72-hour curing/hardening period, those residents will be able to drive on the new concrete on Monday. The contractor will be onsite Monday installing stone ramps to these drives. The current plan (weather permitting) is to pour the east side curb & gutter next Tuesday. All residents will need to have cars out of their drives by 7 AM on Tuesday morning. We have been told by the contractor that they plan to install the bottom lift of asphalt mid-August!
